Hello all and welcome back to another addition of my weekly journal.
I'm sure we can all agree the Xmas season is definitely starting to creep in although I haven't got that full on Xmas feeling just yet. So far the radio stations haven't started playing the dreaded Xmas songs, although I'm sure they will any day now which always adds to the Xmas fever.
We've also not put up any Xmas decs yet or the tree which we still need to go and buy. Living just by Cannock Chase I'm really up for going and buying a real one and hopefully catch a glimpse of some deer while we're up there although Georgina is against the idea of a real one this year. Talking of deer, I'm looking for somewhere local to Staffordshire where we can take the kids one weekend to visit Santa and for a sleigh ride, so if you have any suggestions or know anywhere then please let me know.
And yes, before any one points it out; I am feeling a bit more Christmasy than usual this year which you can read all about here in my Reasons Why I'm Looking Forward to Christmas post. One thing I do always dread is what to get people, I'm so awful at picking out gifts so sorry in advance people.
Anyway, with 40 days to go I think that's enough about Xmas for this post...
Moving on, this week we saw Leola turn 8 weeks or 2 months, I'm not sure what the difference is but Georgina seems to think these are two different mile stones?!
Rather than spam you which I sort of will anyway, here's some photos from Leola's 8 week and 2 month photo shoots.
I personally think this week she looks like a completely different baby and I can't beleive how much her face has changed over the last few weeks.
Not only is her face changing, she's now developing such a cute little personality and is a typical girly girl even at 8 weeks / 2 months her personality is really starting to shine through.
Before moving on to this weeks updates here's just one more picture and then that's it... for now... I promise...
On to this weekend and it was a bit of a boys weekend as opposed to the weekend before's girly weekend. Georgina and Leola we're off to Georgina's friends baby shower on the Sunday and with Kitty being out with Nan it left just me and Wolfe.
We didn't get up to too much other than a bit of food shopping and a trip to our local green grocers which Wolfe loved for some reason. He helped me pick loose mushrooms but not before inspecting every single one individually before deciding if it was fit to go in the bag or not. He also picked a pear which was a strange choice considering he usually loves bananas.
I'd love to give you more weekend updates but that really is pretty much all we did. We're in full hibernation mode at the moment in our household with early nights, lots of comfort food and lots of new TV series. We're on full on wind down to Xmas. I'd love to hear if any other families do this in winter too?
This week has also been pretty much the same, I had a bit of a treat on Wednesday which saw me on half a days holiday and go on a mission trying to find a shop that stocks Leola's formula milk as our usual shop had ran out. Luckily we managed to find some and a milk crisis was averted.
In site news you've all been treated this week with me posting every couple of days which continue my health and well being month throughout November. Don't forget to check out the lifestyle section of the site and check the featured articles on the home page so that you don't miss any.
This week we're planning a trip to IKEA so I'll keep you all posted on how that goes!
Have a good one!
I'd very nearly considered not writing a journal this week due to being so busy with work and having not really done a lot the weekend just gone but I thought what the hell, there's still lots of other updates.
This Saturday (tomorrow) marks 8 full weeks with Leola and I seriously cannot believe it's been two months already. Having said that, it seems totally weird trying to remember what things we're like before her.
We're all still adjusting which I guess is completely normal when a new born comes into your life and she is really starting to show her personality traits now. I think personality wise, she's definitely more like Georgina and can be quite shy until she knows your face a little bit.
She's also had more check ups and is perfectly healthy and gaining weight as she should be.
This weekend I invited my Dad over for a cooked breakfast and so that he could see the kids for a bit followed by my sister coming over. Her daughter is about 8 weeks older (I think) but there really isn't a lot of size difference in them. I'm sure they will end up as best friends.
Other than that and taking Wolfe to the park we had a really really quiet weekend which I think was well needed. Although Leola is sleeping a lot better we're usually still up quite late due to me working such long hours and having things to do once I'm home which usually results in us going to bed pretty late lately. Sometimes Bernard's watch would be so handy so I could pause time for a bit to get jobs done. Wishful thinking eh!
So this week, I've moved offices at work back to an office I used to work from last year so as well as my blog and networking etc, I've been super busy in my day job.
We have actually managed some TV time this week once we've been getting to bed. The new Netflix series "The Devil Next Door" is a new favourite of ours. It's super gripping and we're only a few episodes in so far. I wont say too much about it so as not to spoil it but you can see the trailer here.
In site news, if you've read the blog I posted on the 1st then you'll know what I'm talking about. If not then I'll explain now and you can read the post here after.
During November I've decided to dedicate the site to well being & self discovery. Why you ask? Well, I think we could all do with looking after ourselves a bit more whether that be mental health or physical health so I thought why not write some inspiring posts for you to read and maybe it'll spur me on to and maybe I'll find something out about myself. It's as simple as that really and I hope you find at least one post I write in November useful.
All of these posts can be found in the lifestyle section of the site and will also be on the home page in the featured section so there's no excuse for missing them! I'm hoping I'll have time to post every other day but we will see...
Any way, thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
